In 2007, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) conducted a study involving 1,25,000 children across 13 Indian states, revealing that one in two children experienced child sexual abuse (CSA). Alarmingly, only 3% of these cases were reported to the police. The report highlighted that 9 out of 10 children knew the abuser and 1 out of 3 abusers were direct family members like father, grandfather, uncles etc.
Safe Childhood is a comprehensive program with interactive, narrative workshops to prevent and fight child sexual abuse for children and adults. We provide Personal Safety Education, First Responders Training for adults, handouts and resources.

UDAAN - Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
According to the United Nations, Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is central to children and young people’s health and well-being. It gives them the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy, informed, and responsible choices in their lives and promote gender equality.​ Our course is designed in two groups: i) Students of classes 8 to 12 (school) and ii) Ages 18 to 25 (college). We cover the following topics:

Human development and anatomy

Explore and nurture positive values regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights

Awareness around contraception, childbirth and sexually transmitted illnesses

Awareness around threats of discrimination and abuse

Discussions about relationships, culture and gender roles
